Digital X-rays and Cone Beam 3D Imaging are two of the advanced diagnostic tools we use in our clinic to provide you with the best possible care.
Digital X-rays use a digital sensor to take images of your teeth, unlike traditional X-rays that use film. Digital X-rays use significantly less radiation than conventional film X-rays. Our dentist can then instantly view the high-quality images on our imaging software. Our team is able to use digital radiography to identify and diagnose several types of dental problems, such as:
- Decay in between teeth
- Tartar/calculus below the gums
- Defective fillings or other problems with dental restorations
- Developmental abnormalities
- Improper tooth root positioning
- Cysts and abscesses
- Tumors
- Infection or abscesses
- Bone loss and periodontal disease
At our clinic we are also able to provide cone beam 3D imaging that can show our doctors a three-dimensional image of your teeth, mouth, and jaw. This type of specialized imaging can help diagnose complex dental issues that may not always be easily detected on standard two-dimensional x-rays. This 3D imaging is also incredibly helpful in the planning process for dental implant treatments.
