Dental Exams and Cleanings

Dental exams and cleanings are an important part of maintaining good oral health. While many people are advised to come in every six months, others may need to come in for care more often. Putting off your dental exam and cleaning for intervals longer than 6 months between visits may put you at risk for undetected problems to arise or damage to occur to your teeth, gums, or mouth.

Each time you visit our dental practice for a checkup, we will provide a professional teeth cleaning and dental checkup to help keep you healthy. During your cleaning and exam, our team will:

  • Clean your teeth by removing any plaque or superficial tartar (AKA calculus), which if left on teeth for longer periods of time can lead to cavities and/or periodontal disease
  • Floss and polish your teeth
  • Examine your teeth, gums, and mouth for signs of any harmful dental conditions or diseases

We also utilize dental X-rays on routine intervals based on the condition and history of your oral health to make sure that we are helping you maintain a healthy, comfortable, and functional smile. Regular dental cleanings and exams are essential in maintaining good oral health, preventing cavities and gum disease, and making sure that any damaging conditions are treated as early as possible.
